sure feels like it. just wanted to share my story. i am the owner of a 79 mikado slash 78 luv if you get my drift, trying to rebuild it for a daily driver for now its been sitting in my driveway for little over a year with nothing done to it at all just bought parts. so anyway neighbors complain so i had to move off my "f"ing property of the house that i am paying for. so here is where the story gets better i took it to a mechanic for brake and clutch work. the radiator leaks like a sift so i'm searching... start working with this guy he says i know of a salvage yard not far from here i ask whats the name of this place you talk of ? i call info and get a number call the owner amd ask do you have any luvs or luv parts he says yeah 3 trucks one almost complete and some parts on the shelf. i ask what time do you close 5 30 he says and its 3 45 now and a 45 minute drive from where i am so i locate my boss tell him i'm taking the rest of the day off to go look at some parts, missing out on 4 hours o/t. so i get to the salvage yard and ask about the luvs he says follow me i will take you to them, i'm thinking cool, i get to where the trucks are and all that is there is partials, i,m pissed nothing really here i need.plus its a pull apart kinda place i have 20 minutes before they close 2 hours from home and no tools, i call the counter and ask if they can pull parts for me not to night he replies i'm fixn to go home. great i have to come back another time and pull parts i don,t really need. i call him back and tell him it'll be 3 or 4 days before i can come back he says i can't wait that long the crusher is coming in 2 days and i should've crushed them two trips ago. well shit now what am i gonna do ? what did i do? let me tell you i decided to call it a loss bad luv owner i knowso i turn around to look again at a 76 with a nice set of dual head lights thinking might look good on my mikado some how and then i noticed the bed of a courier kinda looks like a luv bed maybe some of the parts i need can come off the courier, nope they have already been taken what a f n waisted trip turn around to head back to the car and suddenly the heavens open up and i am looking at a used brand new chevy luv that really needs to go home with me complete missing wheels and dome light lense no rust few dings and scratches i want it.i call the guy back and ask how much is going take to not crush the luvs he tells me good news there is a delay on the crusher it,ll be a couple of weeks cha ching i drive home and cant quit thoinking about how i'm going to get it home it is going to be expensive the way gas prices are so i give up again decided to call a buddy he says i've got a friend with a trailer i bet he will go get for you at no cost whatsoever i've got toat least pay for lunch gas and snacks for the trip he calls and the guy is out of town great i don't have any more time off for at least a week i just cant go. so the next day i call the salvage yard i beg him to please hold the truck i will come get it how much is it going take i see $$$$$$ popping up everywhere he say 6 no 11 cents a pound sold sold sold i will be there next weekend to get it please don't crush it or sell it he says don't worry no body is coming for that shit pardon his language no body is looking for luv parts i tell him tons of people are looking they just don't know you have them. so here i sit waiting for next weekend. fingers crossed. thanks for reading hope you enjoyed it sorry it was so long but i cut it short as i could. hope everyone has a safe and happy memorial day
