I'm only 36 and I liked it! No... I luv'd it! The bullet taillights and the fins are the best! And all the detail and chrome in the dashboards and interiors. Such style and class and workmanship and pride.... what a lost era of style. Kinda sad, in a way....

In the 70's my dad's boss' Cadillac had a car phone in it that was much like that, but it had no dialer wheel. You just pushed a button on the handset and give the operator your code # and the # you want dialed.

We would tell my dad to get one for his Lincoln. He said that 45 mins. to work and home later, is his alone time. He didn't want to be bothered. :)

I'm only 24 and thought it was pretty cool. That was were auto customizing got its start. The best part about those days was that most of the customizing had to be done yourself. There weren't a lot of shops that specialized in stuff like that. Nowadays any idiot with a checkbook can build a car, but knows nothing about it, some of them can't even change a tire. It kinda bastardizes the hobby for those of us that work hard on our rides and add our own custom personality to it, not a "custom" piece that has sold over 100,000 units for the same model car. Now you can buy a car and take it to a custom shop and look through a photo album of other cars they've built and pick out what you want. Thats not custom car building!

Ok....vent completed....
