--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NO GAS...On May 15th 2007

Don't pump gas on May 15th
in April 1997, there was a "Gas Out" conducted nationwide in
protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon
> overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in
protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most
places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet
network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take
$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companys
pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May
15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for
at least one day.

If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your
contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

I am just passing this along as I received it....

I'm in. I filled the LUV today at $3.33 a gallon! When LUVs were new it would cost about $10 to fill them up. Now it's over $30!!

I will be in, you don't even want to see my monthly fuel bill.

1 SUV
2 Mini trucks (running)
1 Diesel pick up
1 Luxury car
2 motorcycle's
1 V-10 motorhome
We drive these all of the time. $600.00 a month in fuel is normal for me, so when the prices go up I notice big time.

I'm in. Gas prices is why I use a souped 4 banger for my daily driver. My last ricer was a souped V6 and ate gas like a full size suv.

yeah... i try to only buy gas once a week now. costs like me around $65 - $70 to fill up the truck. 20+ gallons of 93 octane really sucks. needless to say i don't drive but to work, grocery store, and the gas station these days. i'm hoping that one day they'll feel sorry for and ask if we want some personal lubricant when we fill up.

I am driving a motorcycle to work now everyday that I can. It's gotten ridiculous. It's 68 miles round trip to and from work... so 15 mpg in the f150 isn't cutting it anymore. I drove the bike in the rain today.

For anyone who doesn't know, I haul gas for a living. We have never been busier. When the prices go up, we may see a small decline in activity for a day.. but then we are right back to hauling up to 300,000 gallons a day between 12 drivers.

BTW... You may not be able to convince the people overseas to lower their prices, but did you know that you are paying no less than 50ยข per gallon in taxes? No joke.

I'm in too. I just hope everybody doesn't go to the pump on the 16th. It would be a wash... :( Its strange with these high gas prices there are record numbers of people commuting with huge v-8 engines in suvs and pick-ups, usually by themselves. And the most expensive gas stations in town are always busy? I drive 100 miles excactly round trip a day in a 80 Luv 4x4. I gas up on the 4th day and average about 27 mpg. I too have a 97 ford F-350 crew cab diesel and a 3/4 ton suburban big block 454 for my larger family, but I drive them sparingly. And I sure as hell wouldn't commute in them.

The only way to hurt them is to drive less and car pool to use less gas all together.
Not buying any for a day might make a point, but all those people will still buy gas another day.
It's like worrying about not working for a Monday and then getting a 10 hours a day the rest of the week. It's still 40 hours. At the end of the week the check is the same.
Less driving, better mileage vehicles. That will use less gas.

People used to say to me how much it must suck to have to fill my 40 gal. tank in my Suburban. I'd say filling is not the bad part. The 10 mpg using it up fast is what's bad.
They would say, "Yea, but it must cost so much to fill such a big tank."
I'd say 10 mpg is 10mpg. If I had a 20 gal. tank, I'd cost less at fill up but I'd have to do it twice as often.

you cant just do it for a day is what a gas attendant told me to hurt them would be for a week... which would be highly unlikely with businesses and today a lot of people probably filled their tanks. We could possibly control it but its all supply and demand.
