I read in the paper yesterday that Americans saved less money last year than any other year since the year of the Great Depression. Some market analist stated that people are making bad investments. Right next this article was another about how gas companies have had record profits the last 3 years. So, how am I supposed to save when my health insurance, electric, natural gas & gasoline costs have gone through the roof and neither me nor my wife has had a raise in 3 years? Going back to the market analist, how can I invest when I cant even get ahead? Asshat!

Well sure as hell don't take a analyst or rocket scientist to figure out it cost more to live now than it ever has and the money that people used to save they now have to stretch just to survive.I only wish i had gone to collage just to be that stupid.

Thats because you like the rest of us have a driver license and a project vehicle (not intended but just the same) and it seems to be the american way.I hope i don't offend anybody with this as that is not how it is intended.

I'll have you know my wife has already decided for me that my truck is not a hobby...nor is it a project either.

She has informed me that it is "that damn rust bucket money pit in the garage".

And she decreed a long time ago " Thou shall not have thy expenses for thy truck violate thy Holy Household Budget".

But I am the man in my house and I always have the last word in all of our arguments.

Right when I answer "yes dear".

Exactly, I am finding, since I lost my job in November that most jobs are still starting at the same rate when I had to look for a job 12 years ago, I cant afford (or survive) to start over at those wages.

Yeah, we lost alot of industry jobs around here and now those people have to work two jobs to make up for the one they lost. Its tough, I know. I hate the place I work at but its stable and secure for now.
