Does anyone have a picture of a stock 1980 grille they could post. Mine has a tube grille and I was wondering what a factory one looked like.

Square tube or round tube, I would love to get my hands on a square tube chrome grill.

It's square tube. I want to keep it, I was just curious as to what a stocker looked like as all the other luvs I've had were 4 headlight trucks.

Nice truck Tilted, wish I had the airdam also.

You do no I was kidding right? I would like to find a square grill. When I was into LUV's in the early 80's they were everywhere, right now yours is the only one I have herd of.

Here's one for ya, mytmouz! I'm going to be removing it pretty soon to do the timing cover gasket replacement and tensioner adjuster and when I do, I'll take several photos of it from different angles.

Here's another one I took this morning!! It snowed overnight and it's cold up here! (Seattle Seahawks have a game on Monday night football today) I'm 20 miles SE of Seattle.

This is all coming apart later this week. This is a '78.

I was looking at a few of these today.
LUVRV8 :
Does the LUV square tube grill you seek have the contouring like a stock plastic grille?
Or, is it just basically straight across with maybe a bend or something to fit the opening?

Ctmndu...
Do you have any old school mags showing the grill he is seeking?

LIL Varmint was one of my very favorite MINIs back then.
Saw it in a mag recently; brought back alot of memories.

Anyways, I located 2 of these but they werent from a LUV, they were straight across versions.
I suppose you could take a straight grill and remove what isnt needed and remake the rear mounts to the core support.
I looked at one rather immensely and it seems to me you could accomplish this with one from a different application into yours...
just my thoughts

Any pic's of them? Again it makes me pissed that 25 years ago I could have had any of these hard to find parts (grills, flex windows etc) at just about every corner. I guess if it was easy everyone would be doing it.

RPOZ11, I'm pretty sure that's what happened to mine. There are 2 pieces of aluminum angle bolted to the grille mounts that then bolt to the luv. The grille has an angle bend in the center. I don't know what it came out of, but it looks like a full size truck. The ends are black plastic caps so I think it would be easy to size it to the grille opening by shortening the bars and reinstalling the caps..

What's wierd is the only LUVs we find now days are the stock ones. What happened to all the custom ones from the ol days? I guess Tilted was the only one to stick it in the garage and save it.
