Great looking box. They are built well, and if you are like most people I know, you will have it for a long time. There are a lot of look alikes, but they won't last like a Snap On.

NICE!!! i really need a new box, i have a crappy craftsman that was given to me the drawrs stick, the clips are broken on two of them, and the top is beat to hell b/c i use it for a welding table often, and it is oveflowing with tools and junk.

but i cant bring myself to pay that much for a new one 8O

At $1600.00 you must have held a gun to the guys head cause that is one hell of a buy. I traded off a Snapon 40"X26" and a small top box for a Matco set thats 40"X27" and65"s tall. If you are looking for more hand tools PM me as i have a bunch that i am going to sell. I use to have my own auto repair shop so i now tools every where that i don't need.

Ooh, Nice box. :smt055 I used that same line on another web site too.(don't tell my wife).

$1600 I think is a great deal. Matco used to have a contract with North American Van Lines and I delivered several new boxes to mechanics all over L.A. The big ones, bottom only were like $6000. 8O

Yup I had a craftsman before this one too. It was only four months old. I would open the drawrs and it would drop down almost an inch. It was nothing compared to this one. Hopefully this snap on will last another 25 years like some of the other guys at my shop has had theres.

I had to make good with what i have. I got a Craftsman "Tamale Cart" tool box that sold for 500.00 brand new. I needed something bigger to hold all of my work tools. Sheetmetal tools get heavier in the box as you buy more. The stock caster wheels would get rivets and washers imbedded in them and the bottom of the box got bent from hitting ledges in the concrete. Then it wouldn't sit square. I ended up getting 2" angle iron to make a frame to set the box into and 4 brand new caster assy's that are far more durable with zerk fittings for the bearings. This was the best thing i could have ever done to that box. It rolls smooth as glass. It sits square and the wheels are tough enough that rivets and such dont get imbedded. All together i think i spent around 130.00 for the iron, welding and casters.
Another 80 bucks was put to getting a butcher block top on it. I doubt that i'll be replacing the tamale cart any time soon.

Yep. I have top and bottom crapsman boxes. And a bunch of their tools too. Of coarse my tools are not my job, just a home thing, but for the price, you can't beat crapsman. 8)
