dude! i am supposed to have that same surgery C6-C7. I have been putting it off for a year now but I'm so tired of being on hard core narcotics for the pain so im going to have the disk fusion or a prosthetic disk put in. good luck with everything, I feel for ya man. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

At least yours is at the base of the neck and you'll have some mobility.

I'm afraid of losing any mobility at all since i ride bikes but I've put up with being in pain for a long time now and I just need to get 'er done. as soon as i get some bills paid off and we get to "off season" at work then I'm going to schedule it.

the thing that worries me is that the doc says they go in from the front of your neck to do the procedure. I already had a discogram where they stuck 4 needles in from the front, squeeked past my jugular vein and larynx to inject my disks. had a sore throat and kinda lost my voice for a few days.

I just had a discogram as well, not a fun experience at all to say the least. I have bad disc's in the L4-L5 and L5-S1. I will be the second person in the U.S. to have the Wallace procedure done. It has just gotten FDA approval to be performed in the US late last year. Good luck with your procedure, I really do hope it helps, I know the feeling of waking up in the morning and wondering if I am gonna be able to tie my own shoes today.
