So today started out well enough, up at 0630. Dad brewed some coffee and we threw some Reverend in the CD deck of his S10 and we were off. Little did we know adventure was waiting for us. We get to Leavenworth WA just fine in perty good time. Then its into the 48 pontiac for me. I have some trouble starting it up becouse i forget to turn on the electric fuel pump the previouse owner installed. Silly me. Any way we get the pontiac fired up and my dad starts following me home. The 200+ mile trip would turn into a 50+ mile trip to my uncles place in Wenatchee. The troubles start when i set the park brake at the gas station. The rear brakes hang up. Well after hammering the drum with a 4lbs sledge they free up and were off again. The Pontiac is cruising smooth at 40mph, but the ignition seems to be cutting out or something with fuel delivery is going on(made a post about this earlier). Well my goal was to make it to my uncles place where i had a shop to trouble shoot some things so i bear with it. Well the igintion realy starts giving my fits, its hard to even keep 30mph. Its only another 9miles to my uncles place so we keep going. Well i have to stop at a stop light and noticed my pedal didnt go down vary far, didnt think much of it becouse it was rolling stop so i didnt use much preasure on the pedal. Well then i see a big hill, this was to be the death of me. I start pulling the hill and notice a funny smell, great my breaks are hung up. Well its not far at all now so im going to limp it to my uncles place and figure things out from there. Well this is about the point were i figure out my generator isnt charging. It dies ON THE HILL. So now we have some pissed off people behind us, but hey its a 2 lane road eachway so what ever. My dad pulls the S10 around front the of the car and i start hooking up the tow strap. Well the Pontiac didnt budge and my dad was getting smoke from both rear wheels on the S10 (good old Gov Lock rear). But we finally get it going and get it to my uncles place. By that time there was alot of smoke from the sticking brakes. But hey i made it to a safe haven so to speak, so all is good.
So how was your saturday?

I got the new eng. into my 80 today. Not running yet, but in and bolted down.

Good thing you had a place to park it safely and work on it. I hope the brakes are an easy fix for you.

The worse thing that happend to me while i was driving, is that my rag joint came loose on my steering (I had installed a body kit, and didnt tighten the rag join enough), So I took off at a stop light. I turned the steering wheel left, but the Luv went to the right! To top it off there was on coming traffic on the other side. Good think The truck was pointed to the adjacent street on the left and I was able to limp it to the side of the road.

With your choice of music that car fits you pretty good. now all you need is slicked back hair a smoke hanging out of your mouth a skin tight white tee shirt and some dark denim skin tight blue jeans that are rolled up on the bottom. lol. J/K!!! :P I relally like that ride, and I really like it has a flathead. Are you thinking of sectioning it at all or chopping the top down? Oh, that thing would look mean, you have to keep it ford flat black too. :smt066 BADFUC*INGASS

Maybe that explains your other post, its not the jet fuel fumes, its the 'shine.
