How many movies did they rip of... opps I mean, use for a basis for this movie.

Field of dreams.

I think the montain in the background makes me think of close encounters of the third kind's montain.

Any one else.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

One of the other bases would be Doc Hollywood. Ya know, a crash in a small town, forced to fix something, realizes that the 'fast lane' life isnt for them, find true love, live happily ever after . . .

It still doesn't detract that it is a great movie with a lot of cool car guy stuff in it.

I loved it. I was just wondering who saw things like that...
I didn't think I would watch it at first. Like all the good stuff was in the previews. and nothing else

Doc Hollywood good one, I didn't see that till you said it., but I have only watched it once so far....

I know I saw more. Sometimes they were quick. American Graffiti ?

American Grafitti was in there, I believe days of thunder was in there, oh and another fact, the big stock car crash scene, was a computer generated replica of the rusty wallace race where he flipped 27.3 times or something like that. . . I think it was rusty wallace at least. . . anywho it was a CG version of that crash. .

The cone motel is copied from a Indian teepee motel in Holbrook Az.

Warton, TX has a setup of T pee's like those. Tee-Pee hotel. It has been abandoned for years but someone has bought it and is restoring them. I am sure each one one of the hotels has a interesting story about them.

It is nice to hear that some things like these hotels are still going. Maybe our grand kids will be able to see them.

It is like Drive in Movie theaters, not many left. It is a shame. Many good memories about them. As a young kid with my family, and later as a teen ager and adult.

My daughter got that movie for her birthday a few weeks back and it is the best movie I have seen in a long time. It is even better in surround sound!!

Well after breaking down and buying the dvd here the other day I must say. That was a breath of fresh air... one of the better movies I've seen in a few years, and it was designed for kids! I loved it.

"I ain't no Mack son, I'm a Peterbilt!!! Check your lights , ya moron."

That's one of my favorite lines. Any Peterbilt driver is TOTALLY offended if hes mistaken for a Mack or Freightliner or Volvo. etc.

I luved it too! the whole movie was real intricate, everything was spot on, except the sheriffs tailpipe, in the scene weher he is chasing lightning mc queen, the backfires come out of the left side. in the scene where he is on the car lift in docs office, the tailpipe is on the right. dont ask me why i caught that but i did, it was a great movie none the less! :D
