So I'm talkin' to my boss today about when I fix my truck I'm not gonna take it off road for a long while 'til I know it can handle it. So he suggests keeping my luv for a street truck and buying something else for a trail rig, something a little easier to upgrade and fix. Wait a minute. . .He's got just the thing! He's got a mid 80's Blazer with a four inch lift. Problem is that it needs:

windshield
pass door window
hood
rear driveline
transfer case
transmission
engine
bucket seats
dash cluster
wheels and tires
and probably a whole host of small things.

Wants a $100. Is this worth it for something to build up from scratch over time when I can get some free parts and junk?

Is WHAT worth it :?: Doesnt sound like theres anything THERE :!:  lol
And, as we say in the used car bizz,"an ol car (or truck) is only worth as much as the next man is willing to pay for it."
Then rule #2. is: There IS an ass for every seat :!: :D

Well considering that the rest of the body is straight and there is no deep rust would the next man be willing to pay $100 :?:

THIS next man wouldnt...but then I buy all kinds of old junk cars here all day long thru the car-lot for $10 to $20 and most are pretty complete, some even run but I crush most of them.
But if this something you are looking to build and have time and most importantly w city ordinances the way they are these days....ROOM to store it, and then if you dont mind puttin back all thats missing and then the magical word, can AFFORD to do so....then maybe its a bargain. Otherwise it will just be a headache and an eyesore.

Ya know, I think you're right. I guess I'm just thinking about stepping out on my LUV cause it's disappointed me so, lately.

Ohh no, never abandoned, I've seen my truck while someone else was driving it and it's a sexy beast. Plan on keepin' it forever. If the motor blew I'd park it til I got a new motor, and then be back again. I'm puttin' in a shit load of overtime at work to try to get some extra "Bring back the LUV!!!" funds. So hopefully in a week or too it'll be goin' again.

Why can't a guy with a whole yard full of LUV open in my state?!?!?!?! This whole process would be soo much simpler.

I was lettin my mom drive to the corner store while I was busy running errands and her car is broke down, and we came home at the same time and I almost didn't recognize my own truck cause it doesn't look that aggressive from the inside. It looked nice though. Oh, and just for shits and giggles here, that's also officially the last time it's been ran cause she brought it home and said it was running like shit and I haven't been able to get it to run since.

Well my son is only two, but I think it's gonna be the same way with me. He's always coming out and handing me stuff, usually the wrong stuff, but it still makes me feel good.

I think it's a K-5 cause it's the same size as his 78 Bronco. They've got it sittin' on a loaner set of wheels to move it around, 15X10 on some old M/T Baja Radials, 35X14.50 tires and it's almost enough to make me pee my pants, but if I think about it I really can't afford the time or money to get it going.
