I went to a get together with my wife today. While I was there I ran into someone from the social security office and started talking about claiming disability. I informed her I had been turned down AGAIN for SSI since my military retirement is too high. I am applying because no one wants to hire me as I can't be productive enough to "earn them a profit." We have bills to pay and I just want to make ends meet. She went on to say "regulations are there to prevent those that try to abuse the system." (Well guess what, I started venting) From being at the social security office and seeing the people there that I know get these checks and my wife working at WalMart seeing the same damn thing, I told her a thing or two. I said I am sick and tired of seeing people with brand new SUV's, rims, fake fingernails, fancy ass hairdo's, etc. laughing and carrying on as if they deserve the money to get what they don't need to live. When someone such as myself is always turned down because the doctors
you send me to say there is nothing wrong with me but the VA has me down for 90% disabled! Before I could go on she got right up in my face and said something to the effect, "oh you think is't racists huh white boy? You are talking about African-Americans huh white boy? It's all about how black people should bow down before the MAN. I know how you white people think whitey!" All this time she was doing the snake head at me too. Now at no time did I mention anything about the color of anyone's skin. Also would I have struck up this conversation with a black person if I was targeting black's? (Well maybe yes - no just kidding. A bit of humor helps take the edge off here

) Both my wife and I see people of various races and ethnicities fitting this picture and I have been at the social security office A LOT! I find it typical now, that race is the most important thing on a persons mind. While growing up I was taught to get to know someone before making any decisions about them and yes I had a few friends who were black, not many, but a few as back then people just tended to stay within their own circles for the most part and being kids, we went everywhere. I don't recall ever thinking 'oh this boy is black, rather when we ran into someone be it black or white, we simply said, hey I'm Rick and they would do the same. Next thing you know we were playing, talking or cutting up together! Simple times man, simple times.
Just had to vent about this and to say, since being decked by that damn American-Mexican, I am proud to say the only thing I said to her when she started to walk away was, WHAT A BITCH! Well time to send this as tomorrow I am heading in to the social security office and file a formal complaint. Won't do any good except for my piece of mind. Anyone else you think I need to elevate this too?
