ok this is bugging me....i have this gear motor sitting in my garage and i need a idea of something i can use it for...

here are some of the specs on the front of the motor:

HP.. 1/10
input RPM.. 1500
output RPM F/L.. 12
F/L torque in LBS cont...150
F/L torque in LBS inter...300

any ideas guys?

its a 115 A/C motor.....plus it turns WAY too slow

thought of this...but i dont think it is reversible w/o out building a "transmisson"

a couple people gave me the idea of a bandsaw or drill

exhaust fan for the garage,electric beer can smasher,a on demand pump for the keg in the frige with multiple taps placed on all four walls of the garage, crate motor for a yugo or daihatsu. oh well thats all i can think of at the moment. :twisted:

Well, let's see. Without being reversible that kinda limits your options. Are you sure it's not reversible? Sometimes under the cover plate for the connection they have a wiring diagram. It should say if it's reversible.

I'm assuming it's AC, 120V. Does it say AC, 120V?

Hmmmm, ya, pretty much everything that comes to mind needs reverse. That thing turns pretty slow too.

Man...

Needs reverse. Are you sure it's not DC?

12RPM, that's pretty slow. That's only 1 revolution every 5 seconds.

You could do something with lighting. Like hang a mirror ball from it. Or one of those glass prizm thingies. Or attach a color wheel to it and have a light shine through it and it would change colors slowly.
