Upside, more power, downside, bottle runs out. Best bet is to build your engine to use twice as much NOS as you are planning to run, cause you will up the jets. If you have already built the engine or are pretty much stock, then stay under 150hp, A plate system is fine for carbeurated systems at 250 and under, a fogger system will generally let you get away with a bigger initial hit as it usually is a softer hit and doesn't shock the tires as hard as a plate. I have had good luck with NOS systems and Wilson Nitrous Pro-Flow systems, heard good things about ZEX as well. Edelbrock systems have finicky solenoids, IMO, but they work well when they are working.

what kind of process is it after you install it ,i i'm sure you don't just hook it up and start sprayin . I was thinking about a 150 or a 200 shot, i'm runnin a pretty nasty 383 stroker, and i really wanna get in the 10s :D

Never spray until you have everything up to snuff on just motor, if it's not right before you spray, it will surely be worse. Over 150 shot, you need to have your ring gaps open a little larger than normal, as the shot goes up the ring gaps tend to butt, not good. Retard the timing 2 degrees for evey 50 hp increase, and go to a colder plug, also close the spark plug gap up to .035.

I bought the complete NOS Super Power Shot and it comes pretty much turnkey. It comes with installation instructions and setup that a 5yr old can follow. Although really fine tuning a nitrous setup I would consult someone with experience. There is a fine line between "HOLY SHIT" and "BOOM" :D

I run the NOS cheater set up to 150 . Terry is correct have your tune on motor right . This may seem extreme , but i put mine on a chassis dyno and got the A/F ratio right . Bottle pressure and timing are key . I tend to go a little high and purge down to just above recomended and when I go through the traps I'm just below the recomended . I had a local nitrous guru help me set the fuel pressure and i will add 110 octane when avalible to be safe . My current combo has 195 passes on it , so i'm a believer in good set up and balancing the motor . @ $40 bucks a bottle it can get expensive . If you race with it you need spare bottles .
