Everywhere I called to get mixed compressed gas, (75% argon, 25% co2) They either wanted59.99 a year plus a 100 dollar deposit on the bottle, or I could buy the bottle for 159.99. Hmmmm let me see. I spent all my money on the welder, and now have no money for the gas. Well, time to get a second job so I can pay for the damn toy.

wow that seems a little pricey , the guy i work with just bought his bottle it came to 100 bones total with gas . also you might ask the companies about different size bottles. after he purchased the bottle he found out the next larger bottle was 15.00 cheaper. he asked why they said less demand for them so they price them lower to try to get them out of the store.later

Dam!!!! I just got my first bottle for my welder. It is a 40 cubic foot bottle and it was $85. $75 for the bottle (Mine, no lease) and first fill was half price at $10. I called every shop here in Denver and couldn't believe the differences in price range!! 8O The first place I went to wanted $130 for everything and I think that was for the 20 cubic foot bottle. Another plus for where I got mine was it was the only place that was on the way home from work too! 8) Do like I did and call EVERYBODY in your area!! It pays. Good luck!

If you would like, I could call my Mom's husband for you and ask where to get the best deal. He has his own mobile metal working business and works throughout the state of Oklahoma...

Well, I just talked to Arnold, and he said that you'd probably be better off just leasing a bottle and paying for the gas. He said that even witha s much as he uses it (almost daily) he has only used a bottle in about 2 years. He also said that with leasing you don't have to wait for filling and stuff. You just swap bottles when you need a new one, and they take care of stuff like hydrostatic testing on their dollar. A reasonable lesase would be around $25-$30 a year for a small or medium bottle. I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear, but I hope it helps anyway.
