I've been researching information about those Scouts for the past two days and they are nice, vintage 4x4s. I'm thinking about buying one myself down the road when I subtract a few current projects and get some extra money. If you don't know about it already take a look at this website:
http://www.binderbulletin.org It's a great website for anything to do with an International vehicle and I've been a member there for almost 3 years. If you need any kind of help with your newly acquired Scout then this is the place for you. A LOT of great information too. I'd recommend you join if you want to. I guess you turned down buying that 82 LUV 4WD diesel that you said you were going to get. I know how it is when it comes to owning more than a few vehicles and sometimes you can't have both in one situation. In my opinion the Scout you bought is about the same in level of desire as purchasing the LUV diesel. The only thing I wouldn't like is the fact that the Scout isn't diesel powered, which would make it much better for off road use. The 152 4 cylinder engine is a good one though and won't let you down. You're talking about an engine made back in the mid 60's, so it's still just about bulletproof anyways. Good luck with it.
