Ok for everyones amusement.. Yes it is an old US dept of forestry truck. But $500 bucks, 220k miles the guy that owned it before me has maintained it since it was new, and he kept records of everything and took very good care of it. I was interested in it just for the drivetrain, but when I saw how nice it is, well it's registered and plans are to swap in a new 350 next fall. Till then I drive it daily!, everyone I know loves it! She's a tank, but it will pull my toys!

On a side note, my GMC Sonoma is for sale! If you think you might know anyone interested they can see pics and info here: http://www.jewettracing.com/Misc/Sonoma/Ad.html

Can't beat a Burb. It'll tow anything and pass everything except a gas station. This is mine. It's an 86 3/4ton. We've had it since 91. It has the 454 with about 147000 on it. Image

Nice rig Ron! Someday mine will get a new 2 tone paint job and some nice wheels, but thats long after I get my LUV on the track, and a new motor for the burb. I never knew how handy these things are till I figured out I can haul 2 long blocks, a tranny, and pick the girls up from the mall, and the boy from guitar practice in one trip in the rain and not get anything wet lol

Yea. They are pretty handy.

That's an old pic of mine. The paint is shot now. I am going to talk to the paint and body man at work. He does side jobs on the weekends.

You sound about as busy as me. I took all last week off of work and spent most of that time working on the fire wall of the luv. I dont know if you saw the fiberglass work or not but I will tell you its a mess. looks like someone took a sledge hammer and a big chissel to the fire wall and patched it back with fiberglass. hopefully today I will have it allmost ready for paint so I can get my motor and trans back into it. LOL yesterday I traded my old fire suit and my old helmet for my 400 back. I think I am going to tear it down and build it up too make 500+ hp(could use some of your brain power on that when I get ready to do it).

Sweet! No problem, I know 400's pretty well too. You gonna build it to run on pump gas? Thats really what presents challenges with making good numbers, but 500+ is a cake walk with a 400 small block even on pump gas.

yeah I want the 400 to run on pump gas and be fairly streetable so I can drive it if I want to when the weather is nice. I probably wont do anything with it until I move in about 2 months. Finally gonna get my own garage so I can do my own thing and not have to worry about anyone else touching my stuff.
