Looks like I'm back in a luv for a while. The Trooper started missing on my way home, pulled out #1 plug and the ground electrode was melted. Replacing the plug didn't help, so I ran a compression test. My gauge doesn't read much below 20psi, and its coming up somewhere below that. Its either burnt a valve, or a hole in the top of the piston. I suspect the valve though, as I'm not getting any real blowby to the crankcase. Already got a motor on the way to replace it, but swapping it all out is going to take some time, so my trusty rusty blue 77 LUV is back on the road again. I really need to restore that truck, ever since high school that thing has been my reliable backup, and here I am in it again 15 years later.

I'm just getting ready to go pick up my replacement motor. The wrapper it comes in is pretty nice, at least it would be if it were not wrecked in the front. Pics and/or a new thread about it to follow. Seems the LUV might be getting an upgrade out of the deal too.
