They did make a DOHC 3.5L V6, and some company even made a supercharger kit for it. They were/are used in Troopers, Rodeos, Vehicrosses, etc. I forget the years exactly, and the 3.5L also came in a SOHC I believe.

hmmm. were they a well engineered engine. like would they hold up to 10lbs of boost and high revs? also, did they come with manual trannys?

i think it would be cool to have a nice turboed v6 in the pup.

Isuzu made 3 DOHC V6's

first Gen 3.2 - Rated @ 190hp stock(could be had with the Isuzu MUA5 5-speed)
Second Gen 3.2/3.5 - 205/215hp respectively(same thing MUA5 5-speed)
also there is a 3.5L Direct Injection DOHC V6 that had 250hp stock(found in 2004 Rodeo's and Axioms)

Supercharger for the Second Gen engines is made by a company called Alpine

Tad over on http://www.planetisuzoo.com had a Isuzu VX with the 3.5L, he also had the Alpine supercharger and some other doodads on it...made something over 300hp

ok, so the 3.5 is in the really new vehicles. were the first and second gen motors good runners? like do you have any specs for em?? did they have sturdy internals?

id like to put an injected OHC v6 in the pup with a 5 speed with the 12 bolt posi rear. then run a good sized turbo on it with a megasquirt fuel management.

the older Isuzu V6 are SOHC but are pretty good
3.2L rated @ 175hp
are known to last 200,000+mi with regular maintanice
could be found in Troopers starting in 92-97 and in Rodeos from 93-97
the DOHC 3.2 could be had in Troopers from 94-97

The DOHC 3.5 could be had in Troopers from 98-02(stay away from the early years 98,99, they are known to burn oil)

DOHC 3.2 could be had in Rodeos from 98-02, Amigos from 98-02
DOHC 3.5 could be had in Rodeos from 02-04, Axioms from 03-04, VX from 99-02
DOHC 3.5 Direct Injection could be had in 04 Axioms, and Rodeos

I don't know how well they would respond to a mega squirt, i'd try and see what you'd come up with.

Alpine says that whith thier super charger on a second gen 3.5L you will see 280 rear wheel hp. And heres the kicker, it has a CARB number so its 50 states legal! 8)
I know Tad over at the planet loves his VX whith the alpine charger on it.
If i were going for an Isuzu V-6 i would try to find a DI 3.5L. They make something like 250hp and 247lb ft. And in the rodeos and axioms they get 20mpg...
