Ok, I know it isn't a Chevy, but it is a classic. I finally got a 1953 Ford F-100. It is driveable and very clean but I need a bit of advice as I know nothing about Ford engines. This truck has been fitted with a Ford 302 which normally starts up quite easily but does get tempermental once in a while. My 2 questions are: 1. What should the timing be set at and where the hell is the dang timing mark? It pops through the carb every so often and has little power on an incline leading me to beleive the timing is way off. 2. The hood is louvered and with my luck it downpoured last night anf the engine ignition system is soaked and wouldn't fire at all this morning. What is the best and/or fastest way to dry the components out to get it started? I will be sending a picture in soon for everyone to see. just don't laugh at the color as my wife calls it Vile Green and wants it repainted!!
