ok i bought gmc jimmy a mounth ago. Ran great,, it a has a 4.3L form a 95 blazer with only 40,000 .trany is a 700r has 160K on it Eee:P . Any ways i was ont my way home from work. i floored it wined first out... next thing i noticed sevice engine soon light cam on... went to stop .. noticed it was idle way faster than normal.. about mile down road it went back to normal.. .. it did the shit for 2 day.... now the service engine light just stays on.. it dont idle fast now But when you hit the gas fast it hasitats..it just falls on its face. then picks up.. sooo to day i buy new wires and plugs. put them on.. Did't help shit.... i dont know what else i could do.. think tomorrow im going to get a cap and roder. and reset the computer... i looked for vacume leaks and every thing.... the plug look good when i took them out.. sooo it not to lean or rich.... it still got good top end.. but just falls on its face at idle..... i put few injector cleaner in it.. compress is good.. no blowby nothing..... its weird... lol my luck ..i think some sencor is going bad .... that or mud worked its way into something.... idont know.... im pulling my hair out.. i dont have time for this bull shit.. :P owell my luck.. lol

If it's still running ok, I wouldn't worry about it too much. That service engine light could come on for ANY reason. Auto Zone will normally scan the codes for free and tell you what should fix it.

scan codes at Vato Zone. its probably an o2 sensor though

My money is on the O-2 sensor. I had a similar experience with my Bravada after I replaced the O-2 sensor and it was defective. The tailpipe was caked with black soot.
