I got a 91 Full Size Chevy. The A/C was bad when I got it.... One of the lines was broken.

Anyway, I changed the lines, and the a/c worked fine for a while, until the compressor locked up. Seems that the compressor got moisture and stuff in it and that's not a good thing.

So, I changed the compressor, the accumulator, and the orfice tube, poured PAG 100 oil in the compressor, and charged the system back up with 134a to 45 psi at idle on the low side.

Now, the system works just fine at idle, but when I rev the motor up to about 2000 rpms or so, the pressure drops off so bad the compressor starts short-cycling. Rev it up more, and it's faster. Off for a second, on for a second.

Do I need to put more freon in? Seems that 45 psi is where it's supposed to be. Or could something be stopped up in one of the lines?

pressure could be too high and the high pressure cutoff switch is shutting the compressor down. Also... when you recharge a system with refrigerant, you are supposed to evac the system to 30 atmospheres for several hours to make sure all moisture and air gets removed. If you just recharge with no evac then there will be a large air pocket in your system and it will not work at peak efficiency
