My old motor I had in my truck was popping and stumbling at a cruise rpm. Messed with it for three months trying to fix it then I spun a bearing in the motor. Now I have my new motor in and I'm having the same problem. There was only 3 parts from the old motor that I used on the new one; the carb(Holley 4150, 650 cfm), the distibutor(new Mallory Unilite), and the coil(Accel 50,000 volt). I took it to a old school hot rod mechanic down the road and let him adjust the carb. Same problem. This weekend I bought a Mighty Demon carb and put it on. Same problem. I'm not saying that because the distibutor is new that isn't the problem, but..... I'm going to try to find a distributor that I can use to try that. That's my last guess. It runs fine at WOT, it idles fine. Anybody have any ideas? This is my brand new motor and this is really getting on my nerves now.
