well back when i had the stock 4-banger in mine i think i was gettin around 15 - 18 mpg. Never finished my 350 build-up so i cant say there. But my 99 dakota with a 360 in it gets 12 - 13 around town and 16 on the hiway but it also weighs 4000lbs so its a little heavy compared to a LUV.

I am getting 28 city / 38 highway. But that is not accurate cause I was following a 18 wheeler.

I am getting between, ready for this??? 6-8MPG with the V-6, turbo 350 and the stock rear end. Didnt take any gear ratios into account when building the truck.
I use about a half a tank going from one end of town to the other and back!!

Best I have got was 9 miles to the gallon, but thats because I drove to town at 40 miles per hour. The worst I have got was less then 5, but that involved 80-90 mile an hour speeds and 4500-5000 consistent rpm's....

Gas mileage was the last thing I was hoping for when I did that conversion....

With the sb 400/th350/2.75 rear gears, i figure im getting around 8 m.p.g. on the Hwy. Im still looking at tuning the motor even better and changing the secondary spring in the 4 bbl to delay it's action and the motor is still too fresh. I hope that i'll gain some mileage after break in and some more fine tuning.

BTW, thats Imperial Gallon's, not US Gallons. Imperial is a bit bigger then the US gallon.

Tilted... What type and size of carb are you using? When i had a stock, 2 bbl V-6 with the stock axle, i could get around 15 m.p.g. But that was when the speed limit was 55. I didn't have to put my foot deep in to the pedal to cruise down the Hwy but the r.p.m.'s were spinning at 3500!

About that. I will do some scientific tests on it when I get it on the road 100% of the time. 13.8 Gallon tank here should run ummmm bad math skills.

13.8 Gal * 1.83 = $25.25 in gas, so we should see what it will run in miles.

Well I have the stock rochester 2 barrel on it, can never get it adjusted right to keep it running and my foot is always heavy when I drive it, cuz you just got to, right??? Plus I dont know if it being on oddfire V6 makes a difference or not, but I know you can find any aftermarket parts for them!

Tall gears sure make a difference!
Tilted... My first motor was an odd-fire too. And i couldn't get it to idle worth a crap either. At speed the motor would have an occilation you could feel. It's inherent to V-6 motors and more pronounced with odd-fire design engines. It was nothing akward, in fact i got acustomed to it. If i didn't feel the occilation, i knew something was wrong with the truck.

Cool!!! I thought it was just me being paranoid about the motor blowing up at any minute like the first one did!! Learned the hard way to never buy a used engine out of a car you have never seen before .
Glad to know the vibration is normal!

If the odd-fire seems like 3 Harley Davidson engines sandwiched together, it's running right. I got it from a dude that bailed out of a conversion project and it lasted for years and years. It was pulled from his Moms car and it sat in his garage till i bought it. It's a good, strong motor.

OK, I got a 15 gal fuel cell in mine. A .40 over 350 with a 00012 cam from lanaiti. A set of 4.56 gears with 31x 16.5 / 15 tires... I can fill up the tank and get on I-75 go from my house to Tanger outlet for the crusenite. its 76 miles away. once I get there I top off the tank and only get 6 gals in it.
So if my math is correct that means I am getting 12.6 miles to a gal at 3400 rpms( approx 60-65 mph) . then still go 12.40's at the track with only 87 octain pump gas...
