Hello all.

have a 79 with a bad fuel pump.

thinking about not going with the OEM.

has anyone used an aftermarket fuel pump and if so what you all recommend as well as a fuel regulator?

Thanks!

OEM is pretty hard to come by anyway. Universal electric pump is the way to go. Just make sure your pump is in the 3-5 psi range. Anything more than that will require a regulator. Mr Gasket makes one that has terrible reviews. Holley (I think) makes one but it is pricey in my opinion. Watch your pressures. Even with the fuel return line a higher pressure pump I bought fouled my carburetor.

A1275EP from AutoZone is what I ultimately found to work. It is 4 psi. And the bonus was when I installed the 32/36 DGEV Weber Carb, I didn't have to add a regulator. The Weber carb uses 3.5 psi

I freely admit I am no professional builder. But that worked for me.
