My 510 did sit for awhile before I bought it, and it burns some oil upon startup after its been sitting for awhile. I am assuming that it is dried up valve seals. Is there any kind of oil additive that will help them out? I was thinking about trying this stuff called Risoline, or something like that. I put it in my talon before and it helped with ticking lifters and stuff like that. I also saw commercials for Valvoline's high mileage engine oil, that is supposed to restore worn seals.

Any advice? The motor was rebuilt 2 years ago, so I think that maybe they just dried up? I can't really tell if it is getting better or not, its been so cold lately, that the tailpipe puts out a steady steam cloud, which makes it hard to tell if there is any blue smoke.

Thanks for the help.

Daniel

well the Lucas oil treatment works realy well. Your suposed to mix it 25% lucas oil then 75% motor oil. It works vary well.

If that don't work, pick up some STP Engine Restore. I am a huge fan of STP products, everytime i used their stuff it indefinetly helped the engine. Next oil change you do pick some up, its worth the 6 bucks!

thoughts :: if ya got to add some kind of chemecal to your engine to get it to stop one problem....then ya just might be causing problems somewhere else !! Valve seats are easy to replace...it's getten the head off to do it....might be a pain....but if ya do it right 'now .....then ya might be happy about it later. Get ya some lapadary greese and seat your valves good. A drill, and some lap greese, can work wonders if your smoken from your valves.Usually ruber valve seats are cheep.
