I picked up a 1970 Datsun 510 2-door. It has:
a L18(1800cc) punched out to 2186cc.
A 4-2-1 header.
Dual weber side drafts
port-n-polished head
Good cam, not sure what size
BIG valves
machined and polished rods
knife edged crank
everything is balanced and blue printed
flat top pistons
2 1/4 exhaust all the way back with a Supertrapp tunable muffler

5 way adjustable struts
height adjustable coilovers.
big sway bars
4 point chrome moly roll cage
5 poing racing harness
closed ratio 5 speed from a 79 280z
Subaru posi rear end
fuel cell
12" cross drilled-slotted rotors in front
11" aluminum 300zx drum brakes in rear.
Comes with EFI setup.
Lexan windows
new upholstry
extra set of wheels with (4) DOT slicks
Plus a shit load of extra parts

The car drives like it is on rails! I took a 25 mph at almost 65! I crapped my pants, but the car stuck it. ( the guy I bought from convinced me it would do it, otherwise I wouldn't have tried it)

He built if for autocrossing and has won several events with it. The motor only has 10K on it. It runs awesome
He dragged it once, and ran a 14.3 1/4 mile time. He sold it because he works nights now and hasn't really touched it in about a year. His wife made him sell it to get it out of her yard. (we all know how that goes) LOL
Here is the killer part though:

I picked it up for $2000 !!!

He has more than that in machine work in the motor (I've seen the reciepts!)

The luv is no more, but thanks for all the help you guys gave. I will still hang around and chat once in awhile, but I will probably be spending some more time on the nissan forums. I will post some pics of the datsun when I can and let you guys know how she runs.
Thanks

wow, sounds like a blast to drive! i wouldn't mind having a 510 for a daily driver, they're awesome little cars. my buddy has a 610, if he would take care of it and fix up it's problems(needs new wheel bearings) it would be a great rally car, since it has independant rear suspension

510's kick ass. I had one offered to me for $200. its all stock but a good runner. in light of my recent mishap with my daily driver Z28, I may just pick this car up.

I will take some pics of it this weekend and try to get them up by monday or tuesday. Its nothing special to look at, it'll be an awesome sleeper. It is just primer. It has molded on front fender flares and a fiberglass airdam. I am thinking about turboing it or dropping in a 13B RX-7 motor. The SR20DET would also be an awesome swap, but it costs around $6K. So, check back next week and hopefully I will have some pics.
Peace

put a l20b in it with dual weber 40s or 45s. that'll be more than enough power. it's the l18's bigger brother, 2 liters, more if you bore it out

although the engine it's got in it is probably a hot setup, 510s can be pretty fast. an l20 with a turbo or supercharger would make that thing fly, if you could find one for the application. maybe a centrifugal one would work(ati procharger)

How about sticking the 350 that I built for my luv in the 510? What do you think my tire and axle budget would look like?

I have pics, now how do I post them? I had wal-mart put them on disk for me. I know it probably tells me how on here somewhere. But, I am at work and I am not supposed to be using the internet for personal business, so I don't have much time. Thanks
