i would really like to swap a set of astro awd axles and t-case under the luv..
pretty much like the sy/ty's used (same t-case and front diff anyway). as a long term goal not a right now goal for now i just want to get the 4.3 in and running.
im debating between using a ported m90 supercharger or a remote mounted turbo..
i think a ported m90 with the right pulley ratio (2.154:1 for 7psi) would be about as good as it gets on a luv but the sy/ty's run a turbo.. any opinions on which would be a better system? i have been thinking the s/c would be a better option pricewise since it can be used more effectively with a 4bbl then a turbo can and i dont have the $, time or know how to tinker with a tbi system running boost... jetting and referencing a carb sure... tuning a chip to run from a group of sensors...
the syclones and typhoons were the fastest production trucks made at the time and could only be put next to cars like Ferraris for comparisons because nothing else was in their league... which SHOULD mean the same power, AWD and ABS in a lighter LUV should be even faster or at least competitive with them.
anyone have some thoughts on this type of setup or opinions on what would be the best way to go about it?
it would be the type of swap where i would pretty much be finding a wrecked or auction astro complete, tearing out the entire drive and powertrain and the system to run the ABS and scrap the rest to recoup some of the $ spent on it.
the japanese freaking kills me but this is a great comparison video
