well the thought came to mind yesterday... if the small block is the mouse motor does that make the 4.3 at 3/4 of a 350 a mini mouse :eugeek

The chevy 4.3 V-6 was a great motor with few problems.
I think it would fit right in to a Luv.
That would be a sweet ride!

picking mine up with 700r4 tomorrow around noon so im hoping it will be sweet :lol:

i know a few people have made the swap recently or are in the process. stock @ 235LbFt should be a lot more exciting off the start at the least

so Mini Mouse?

A mini mouse to me is any small block with less than 350 cubes...

V6 and 4 cylinders are just in the way in the engine bay, lol...

meh... more cubes than the 4 banger
its.... about 2.4x the displacement. plenty for my needs :lol:

its my daily and my toy a 4.3 can do both to my liking.. i don't have a lot of straight lines out here to go shoot my luv down... lots of windy mountain roads tho... and the last ting i want is a crapload of weight up front on constantly wet twisty roads :lol:

well picking up my motor is about twelve hours so i will have an update on my build as soon as im home

You can get a lot of power from that 4.3L Uses most of the same tricks as SB and there are a lot of parts for it. It's weight is closer to the stock, get it set back correctly and you will have a neat handling truck. Use a 700r4 get the tallest gears you can put in the stock rear end. 3.06 trans first gear with 0.8x overdrive. Would make an excellant truck to pull your trailer with your race LUV. Bolt in mounts and headers, make it a long weekend swap.

I loved mine. And it would run 13.90's in the 1/4 all night long. The down side, I was turning 6900 rpm's at the finish line. TH350 and 4.56 didn't go good together, but I LOVED it! When I would shift to 2nd the rear tire's would break loose. This was before the Vortec heads too.

We have a local bracket racer with a Chevette that has the voertec headed version . It makes good power . He was high enough in points to get into the divisionals and the car fix no-e street class . He ended up winning no-e street and going to Pamona for nationals . Strong runner , no the fastest , but strong .

mine is still sitting in pieces on my work bench. been waiting for the new year to get started when i get my tax return, picked up a second job so will be saving up to build it right
going to get rid of the stock heads and buy a set of '96 vortec heads, a 2114 intake and a 4 barrel.
looking into a 4x4 t5 and some 31's to go with it.
