I went to the junkyard today, and found two disc brake generation LUV's.

I'd really like to make that my first improvement to my new (to me) '75.

Is it just the four bolts at the bottom?

Also, what's the easiest way to free the top? Difficult to separate the ball joint from the hub, and the nut above it is HUGE.

I'm going back, in the morning, and I'd like to be armed for what needs to happen.

Thanks in advance.

And yes, the ball joint will likely put up a fight unless it's been replaced. While your there, you may want to grab an extra set of castle nuts.

Alright...I'll just keep at it.

I'm quickly discovering how cheap the hardware is...might get anal and replace with nice stuff at Fastenal.

That ball joint is a real pain.
