If you are too busy to work on it you should TELL your wife to get out there and start cleaning parts to help you out. Make sure she understands that she only needs a few hours of sleep so she can still make you dinner every night and have plenty of time to work out there 5 or so hours per day. Let me know how this works out for you.

Occasionally work on this thing as I get time.

Image

Pretty much finished up the engine wiring I hope. This is as clean as it will get, lol...

Going to finish up the stuff this weekend in the inerior and reinstall my buckets and console, got an appointment with the muffler shop monday..

Then I got to go back stockish with the trans. I converted it to non VSS like I had in my v8 blazer, but since this one has an ECM, it needs the VSS info, according to the FI board gurus. Then I will need to get an mechanical speedometer to VSS adapter from JTR so I can keep my stock Nissan speedometer...

And... a long overdue update... I got it mostly figured out and running, but trans no workie except low and reverse. Off to the trans shop in March, got it back today... I have a battery drain with the key off, and something in the wiring for the alternator to figure out, and probably a radiator swap, then body and paint/wheels. Due to the electrical gremlins the test drive was short, but verryyy sweet....

I have to pick up a driver side fender (deer took out the fender and door a few years back, I got the door, and I can do the body. The aforementioned stepside bed will be cut down and installed, so all 3 of my mini trucks will have one, and I have a new cowl hood to put on it. (I REALLY hope it doesn't fit as poorly as the one for the project LUV)... And decide on the wheels. I need to get the bed mounted and see if the stock rear is gonna live before I order those though....

Minor update. I got another pig tail for the alternator, the one I had only had one wire, needed 2. Installed it it is charging now, so a road test commenced. With a stock chip for a non vortec tbi and no tuning whatsoever, it runs pretty good. I got to see if I got the battery drain issue corrected with the alternator repair. Not much else is going to happen until I get my current shop project out of the way...

Felt so good I made another test run, lol... Actually, the fuel gauge was low on first run, I was pretty sure it worked, so I went to the station (That is like 20 miles round trip, lol) and got 5 gallons and poured it in, Yep, gauge works. Decided to make another trip, ran smoother the further it went. Temp gauge got a little over halfway, and it is fairly nipply, so I see a radiator core mod and a larger rad in the future...

Been driving this thing around. Pretty much got it running like i want it. need to set the timing and check some of the other stuff with the computer, but it is pretty close. I will need a better cooling system than stock, body parts swap, paint, and wheels, but I am pretty happy with it...
