hey guys, need some quick advice on this one.

a friends dodge got stuck at a gas station last night. said the engine wouldn't crank. i went over there and heard rapid clicking when the key was turned
it sounded like the starter was going out. got it tested today, and it passes?

guy there says its a problem with the ground to the starter.

i get it installed once it's clean, and im STILL having the same rapid clicking when i crank the key.

im going to get a multi-meter to see what the battery is putting out, since im now suspecting the battery is the issue. ( we tried jumping the battery from my LUV and it didnt make a difference.)

HELP!!!! My buddy is holding my LUV hostage!!! (J/K, i let him use it till i got his car fixed)
But seriously, help!

sounds like a battery with a bad cell........ plenty of volts but no amps.

pull the battery and take it to Vatozone.... they can load test it for free!

i was just thinking the same thing. i did a drop test, and the battery is reading 11.68 volts.

i know that means it's discharged, but im wondering why trying to jump start it with THREE different batteries didnt help?

right now, it drops from 11.6 to just above 4 volts when i try to crank the engine

like I said, if its got a bad cell, no matter how much you pump into it it wont take a charge.

Yeah, I once had a battery you couldn't even jump start the car.
