OK here is one for ya, 1994 Saturn four door the windshield wipers will not work unless you use the washer /wiper mode. Checked the fuses did not get into the columb yet ( trying to avoid that) any ideas?

My guess is the switch. Should be able to unplug the harness out of the column and pull the switch right out....

if you have a wiring diagram, trace the switch plug down, and then probe the wires that should be hot after you turn the switch on. if it lights up, it may be another problem. if not, definitely the switch.

i had a 97 saturn sl2, was having troubles with the wipers only working part time also.
tore whole steering column apart and replaced the switch to find out that wasnt the problem, the problem was the wiper motor itself.

if everything else works on the switch i would try the motor first. unfortunately there is no way to test it as far as i know, but it is easier to replace the motor than it is to replace the switch.
