I'm looking for another little project car, and I haven't really been around the drag strips all that much, so I don't know what all to consider, but I'm lookin' for a car (not a truck, so no LUVs), to drop my 400hp SBC into. Right now, I'm lookin' at 1st and 2nd gen camaro/firebird/trans am, and 70-72ish nova/ventura. More than anything I'm looking for something "cool". But I'm drawing a huge brain fart on what are some older Chevy cars to consider.

I don't really car for Chevelles or Malibus, so those are out of the question. Any other suggestions?

I'm shooting for the $2000-3500 price range.

How about a 2 dr. Chevette with 4-5spd. for the street or a glide for the strip. You don't see many of these little cars hot rodded any more and there light weight makes them very quick. Hell i even think about putting a 455 Buick TH 350 in one.

I'd have to pass on the Chevette. I'm 90% sure I'm picking up my project on Thursday. Its a 1981 Camaro Z28. Five hundred dolla!

If he mows the grass I wonder how many other cars he might find.
