has anyone who has done a v8 swap used the stock gauge cluster?

i am wanting to keep my truck as original as possible less of course the v8 and air-ride. i am wondering if i can use the stock gauges with the v8 swap.

Dont see why you cant. You will need the factory sending unit for the stock tank. The temp is electrical and the oil is a light. You might have to play with the speedo gear to get it to read correctly.

It just has to have the correct ohm sender.

Why the fuel cell? I removed mine from stock location had all but one vent line plugged and welded in a 1/2 female pipe fitting. I then mounted it behind the axle, turned it sideways and filled it through the bed. Just extend the wire. Worked GREAT. Eventually went to a fuel cell only because my stock tank rusted a hole through.

I have a V-8 and a V-6 LUV with stock and complete functioning clusters.

im going to do air ride for starters. and my tank has a huge dent in it on top of being very dirty and nasty inside. instead of spending the time cleaning and fixing the stock tank im gonna get an RCI fuel cell to put between the frame rails along with my air tank behind the axle
