look at the dash before he gets his ride pimped. I think the interior is in better shape then some other luvs out there or at least mine.

Uh, isn't that a 72 with the under the tailgate lights? I'm a little slow on this one... Mine's an 80.

Incredible truck... That camper is ugly as Hell though... dump that Q-U-I-C-K!!! Wish they knew that those parts that they just ripped off of it were worth something to quite a few people. lol, notice that they kept the original dash?

Maybe I'm a bit of a nerd, but what did they do to the engine? I'm not even sure the early G180 has enough power to even crank the volume on one of the amps they put in the truck, and I know that the stock alternator wouldn't have anything to do with powering all that crap.

One in the same, Pimp My LUV, and I'll beat your a$$. Liked the paint, the interior, and the wheels, but why the hood scoops? Overhaulin' is much better, but I suppose it's not quite as "cool".

This episode is partially the reason I have a LUV. I needed a small truck, but still wanted something cool, so I remembered that I saw this episode and I watched it again (yes, I have that season on DVD ... done laughing yet?) and decided I wanted to try and find a LUV. Of course, their customizations are always questionable.

That's a 74, it has the square under tailgate lights that 73 and 74 have. They probably didn't do much to the engine. If it was a Mikado, maybe it had AC and a hi amp alternator already. Also there was no Mikado in 72.

Thanks for clearing things up... as long as it brought a person to LUV, it doesn't matter. Publicity is good, right? :)

I still don't think a 50 amp alternator has any business trying to push enough power for all that junk...

I bet they told the kid "Yeah, you can't run the AC and the stereo at the same time. Sorry." I'd just be willing to bet that they don't go to the lengths that we all do to make things work right, it's more important to make it look Cool. What would be cool is if somebody could find that truck and get its owner onto the website. The kid was from the LA area, that's where they film all the episodes, the shop for the show used to be West Coast Customs which I think was down in Crenshaw, now I think it runs out of Galpin Auto Sports and I don't know where that is. I wonder if the kid even still owns it. Anybody ever see it driving around LA?
