I have a 96 ford explorer as my daily driver and I have been having problems with it I had my mechanic come out and fix it but i went ot town and the check engine light came back on and it felt like it had no power!! The thing is it will snap out of it but everytime that I stop and go it does it again then it snaps out of it and works alright any ideas?

When i am driving around town and come to a stop light or sign the car has a hard time getting past 35 mph and then it will snap out of it and start working normal and it does it all the time and i can feel it shake while i am driving what more do you need to know?

how about the trany? thats what it sound like to me. if it only does it coming out of a complete stop and i shifts hard back into gear. have you tried shifting it manuely starting from low gear. i dont know just a thought.

Yea i tried from the lower gears and it was no help but the thing is once it starts working normal again it doesn't shift hard it's like it just gets power back in it again instead of it feeling gutless.

oxy sensor, or ???? sounds like it is going into limp mode.

Have you checked the ignition timing base setting?

Sometimes it is worth a trip to the dealer and let them run it on their computer.... It should be a flat fee. Some big non dealers might have similar equipment. Just something to think about. Then you can fix it your self....
