quick question: I am going to install a flowmaster on my 2003 gmc 2500, I heard that one should disconnect the battery when welding on a computer controlled vehicle. Is this true? Will I need to disconnect both terminals or leave one or the other. I just don't want to screw up my daily driver's computer. I figure its safer to disconnect both, even if I have to reprogram the stereo, seat position, etc...
thanks for any help

It would be a good idea to disconnet the battery. You can get by just unhooking the negative cable. At work we always unhook the neg. cable on the newer combines when welding on them. Better to be safe than sorry.

I agree...We always disconnect the battery anyway...I have never actually seen one but have heard welding take out an MSD box... in reality if you keep your ground close to your weld you SHOULD have no problems...but I would better be safe than sorry :D
