on my 02 toyota tacoma i have coilovers. now, can i change the shocks that are in the coilover, or do i have to change the whole thing...

Well I can't answer your question but I like the receiver in the back ground, that a real nice one! I got one just like (or vary close to) it on the bench right now.

yea just compress the struts, and replace them. should be no biggy. most good auto hobby shops have a nice screw press to make those coils easier to pull off, but the way your doing it will work.

some parts houses can do it for you. Also check on the price... sometimes there is not a lot of price difference buying the whole thing.

Almost looks like a MacPherson strut.
