is there a way to make E85 work through a carb, i know its a newer thing, but i have done research that turns me onto it, i know that you have to change some fuel components but is there a carb you can use to run it with?

Dustin

Quick Fuel Technology also sells E85 carbs and parts to switch your carb over.
http://www.quickfueltechnology.com/home_2.htm

You can't just use your carb, it has to be switched over. It takes alot more volume of E85 that it does of gasoline. Last spring I almost switched my race truck over to E85 but decided against it. Now I am glad I didn't. I was reading in one of my racing magazines that if your vehicle will be sitting for quite some time you need to flush the system out, as it is corrisive like methanol. I have also heard that if you are going to use it for racing that you want to mix it yourself to get E85 as when you get it at the pump it is not always the same. If you can get the March 2009 issue of Drag Racing Action magazine there is a good article about it "Fuel for Thought". There are alot of guys out there using it.

If you're running alcohol, you want to drain the tank, put some gas into it and run the engine for a few minutes. you also need to be sure your fuel pump and filters are ok for alcohol.
To run alcohol you go to larger jets (big) and open up the PV channels and you will need to work the air bleeds on some applications. On thing nice with alcohol thou, is you almost can't run it too rich. However if it just starts to lean out, get your wallet out.
