My F250 trans. went out on me. I guess 111thou isn't too bad as hard as I work it. I was told to only expect 50thou when it's behind a Power Stroke. It's at the shop, I'll post more after they diagnose it. I'm sure it will be a total rebuild.

It's done. My wife picked it up tonight. I will drive it in the am and see how it is. Rebuilt, heavy duty parts and what they call extreme duty converter. ( probably just so they can charge more) And the pan now has a drain plug so I don't take a fluid bath when servicing it. Normally my garage floor ends up looking like I slaughtered a pig.

I have a 95 F250 power stroke 2X4 i bought last summer a nice clean truck that the previous owner was a snow bird. Being a mechanic/transmission gut i said lets go for a drive and see if the trany has had some work.Well it drove and shifted good (hard and perfect at full throttle) telling me it had been worked on so i bought it $5000.00 then got under the truck later and sure enough it was fresh and had a Gale Banks shift controller and i would recommend that controller to any one.

It's a 97. It has the Eo4od or something like that. 97 was fairly early into the whole Power Stroke thing. So the trans. was not specially designed for the eng. Just a big block trans. thrown in behind the bigger power.

i was told is i cant say its true.......

the first year of the DI fords 1994.5 are all manual transes.
i have yet to find a auto trans 94.5 rig

they tride to put a E4OD behind a DI ford 7.3 on a load test stand.........it blue the E4OD to shreds....... meaning putting parts on the floor 8O in under a day of testing.
its odd that it may have done that becouse the IDI turbo engine is rated at 190hp and the first DI are rated at 210hp. :econfused

the 4R100 is suppost to be better :? i seen the little 4.2 V-6 engines tare them up so i gess its more of a mantnence thing than any thing

my 0.01
if it was me and I had the $$$$ id do a swap to a 6 speed :P

I finally got my truck back. Rebuilt trans., a new radiator and trans. cooler, a new short wire harness down by the trans., and .... get this...... a new air filter!!!!! Yea, he figured out that my K&N in the stock air box was restricted and somehow giving the computer wrong signals and causing shifting at the wrong times. It's not that dirty I don't think. I have had it much dirtier before and had no problems. Maybe it's over oiled??? So I have an O E paper filter in there for now. I am checking out a ford truck forum to find out a recommended custom or aftermarket air intake set up.
It shifts very hard now. He said he can soften it if I want. But I think I'll get used to it after a while.

If Dodge finds a K&N in your diesel it will void your warranty.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.
