Has anyone ever run or dealt with the lower priced Pro Comp aluminum heads. Of course all the people on ebay selling them say they are great heads for the price and a couple of them run them on their drag cars with success supposedly.

Any thoughts. Was thinking about trying a set of the 64cc ones with 202 160's

Plus does anybody have any lower priced places you buy your parts from.

I have one company in Tn that will sell me the pro comp heads, forged I beam rods and flat top pistons, rings, high volume oil pump etc for under 1,500

Started my truck up today and guess what. Rattle rattle after it warmed up. Has set for awhile and wonder if Ihave a lifter or rod went bad from sitting. Has fresh oil in it and a quart of Lucas oil mixed in. I had planned on getting it back on the road soon and didn't want to take the motor out until I get my new one built later this spring.

I have a friend who is a ProComp dealer and he will not sell their heads, even for street use. The decks are thin and especially when making hp, the rocker stud bosses have broken off with a high lift cam due to poor casting strength, However, you will hear from a lot of people that they have good success with them...

Thats what I have heard too. O also heard they have redesigned them with a 3rd generation and made a thicker deck and you cam go to a bigger screw in stud.
Just don't know what to do for a not so much driven truck. have heard some great success stories and some real bad ones.
