I have a 1980 Luv truck with a DCH340 (I believe) carburetor. I am not getting gas to the carburetor. I have gas all the way up to the input to the carburetor, but the truck won't run. It will run breifly if I put gas into the carburetor manually. It appears that I have enough gas pumping through the line, though I am new to this so I have nothing to compare it to. At this point, I think I have either a bad needle valve or a clogged filter at the needle valve, but I can't get the screw out that holds the needle valve assembly in place. Is there a trick to it? Left hand screws maybe? I don't want to damage anything by forcing it. When I try to move it, the part that the inlet tube is attached to also moves, so I need to be careful. If the screw is just stubborn, do you recommend applying heat? Also...I assume I should be able to see gas in the chamber (open part you can see on the top) if the gas is getting into the carburetor.

Thanks so much for any help

Part #10 is a screw that I assume holds the filter and the needle valve in place. I can't get it off. Any suggestions?

Use a six point socket or wrench and hold the bottom with another wrench. You may have to grind the bottom wrench down thinner to fit but it will work.
