Bought a longblock and replaced the 4.3L in the 86 GMC 4x4. Decided against using the stock intake manifold & Rochester 4bbl carb. Instead used Edelbrock intake 2111 and carb 1404. Installed no emmissions on new engine. Only wires being used from the harness to engine now are distributer, alt, water temp, oil pressure. Primed engine... Cranked... Nothing. Getting gas but no fire.

There is a bunch of wire connectors not being used that went to the carb & emmisions.

Is it possible to use the stock distributor? If not what distributor should be used?

Are you trying to reuse the stock distributor? I'm pretty sure you're gonna have to spring for another.
