Check for any grounds that are either not connected, loose or corroded.

Yep , if you haven't had the wires loose or if you have and are sure they are wired right a bad ground will make them go crazy. i found out the hard way too when I had mine all unhooked.
Even if you don't have to I would add an extra ground wire directly to the frame somewhere.

try checking out the wiring diagrams in the info section on the main page they got lots of good stuff there and if your wiring inclined at all it might not hurt to at least look it out, shoot me a pm if it looks to daunting, i am pretty proficient with the wiring i had to rewire my harness after an electrical fire... that i caused might i add... but ive learned from it! and i could be of some help... that goes for pretty much anyone too...

Does anyone have a LUV that hasn't caught on fire because of electrical issues? I had to rewire most of my truck due to the previous owners lack of knowledge, I have read a ton of other posts about electrical fires too.

That is a very interesting point mabye it was an isuzu thing they just couldnt get somehting right i guess... mine was because of when i upgraded to the GM 1 wire alternator, i forgot about the stock wire that was ran from the old one and like a dumb ass ran a new one so i could make sure that it would work right... well one thing let to another the stock wire was still hooked up to the battery it grounded out and poof a really huge mess of electrical proportion.. i have mended my ways since then and tore my harness apart about 3 times now because of that mistake i made, lesson learned and god willing it wont happen again...
