I have a 87 silverado and the power windows and lock are erratic. Some of the switches work every once in a while and some never work. After taking the door panel off the driver's side, the lock switch only works when I flex the door panel. Any ideas on what to do? I'm trying to sell this truck so I can start driving my diesel luv.

Take the switch out of the door panel and see if it works. Sounds like a bad switch or loose plug or broken wire (internally).

Hi, I work in an auto electric place. A huge amount of the power window jobs we get in our shop are from that same cause, bad or worn switches or loose or broken wires. More often than bad window motors in fact. Even sometimes just blown fuses that people forget to check. Anyhow, "intermittant" just screams of a poor connection somewhere. Jump the switch contacts and see if if works every time or not, and there is your answer. :)
