I know what you all are going to say "get a set of vortec heads." But Im not going to. I have a set of 487 heads they are complete ready to run. They have been modified to 2.02/1.60 valves from the original 1.94/1.50 valves, the spring pockets have been enlarged for a 1.47 inch valve springs and the springs are all set up and balanced to .570 lift. They are also guide plated and have screw in studs. They have been milled down for compression to about as much as can be milled off. Also they have some port work done to them. Yes I know vortec heads are still going to flow better but I got these from a friend for next to nothing and I do plan on using them. I am not exactly sure what size the combustion chambers ended up after all the work but I will have them checked before I use them. Im planning on using a comp cams 253* .525 cam. or a 244* .501 cam. The motor is going to be a 355 with flat top pistions. What kind of power should this combination make with a Eddy torkker2 or Victor jr intake manifold.
