 Post subject: glue removal

What get the glue off used to hold the side moldings on? Like the molding that goes down the side 80 model chevys?

Try rubbing alcohol on a rag. Or try some Goof off, Go Gone ,or Dissolve-it.
Then maybe acetone or laquer thinner. But very careful with these two. They can hurt the paint.

Also try Diesel fuel, or that spray can brake cleaner. But brake cleaner can also hurt the paint.

And what ever you use, if the paint is in good shape, I would give it a good wax job afterwards.

Sometime WD40 will soften it up enough so that you can CAREFULLY remove it by scraping it off with a razor blade.

3M makes a good adhesive remover. Friend of mine has a body shop, uses it for just what you are describing. Think he gets most of his from NAPA.

Short of that, mineral spirits should do it.
