Here's a story for ya... Picture this:
It's a little after midnight in Oden... It's very dark, with the exception of this dimly lit shop. Everything is quiet, still, and cold. The world is asleep... Then all of a sudden, from inside this old shop there comes the sound of an old engine trying to start. Moments pass, and all is quiet again. Then BOOM!!! The truck tries to start once more and backfires, setting the carburator ablaze... Theres the sound of someone cursing and tripping over scattered tools and parts as he makes a mad dash to put out the fire...
Everything is quiet for a while. It's approaching 1 am... Oden is so still, you can hear a lonely coyote howl for miles... Then out of no where comes the awfulest racket ever heard as the old drag truck finally coughes to life! The deep rumbling of an old hot rod chevy running open headers can be heard for miles... As well as the triumphant yell of a teenage boy as he takes the cackling beast for the first test drive! So, this story comes to an end around 1:30 when I finally slipped off to sleep in the comfort of my bed...

i got one to share with ya.

the night i got my old KZ 650 running i took it for a test ride. the only problem tho.. had no lights at all, wiring tied anded all up on it , no front fender, no rear fender, one full exhaust pipe, no tags, and norear brakes. basically a engine, a seat and two tires

anyway i jump one and blast down the road about 11:30 at night only to be pulled over by my local cop 8O luckily i went to school with the guy and all i got was
"John, what the hell do you think you are doing?"
"hey Steve, i just got it running and I'm test riding it"
"Well it looks like it runs. now ride it home and fix the rest of the shit."

gotta love living in a small town
