Im putting in new tie rods in my luv and am unable to get the tie rod pivoting bolt deep enough into its seat so that when I start wrenching the nut on, the entire bolt doesn't spin in it's carrier.

Are there any tricks to this? I've wacked the hell out of the thing trying to make it seat and grab the metal around it with no success.

Thanks in advance.

I had a similar thing happen to the ball joints.I had to re thread the ball joints to make sure that the treads are clean and cleaned the ball joint socket in the spindle just to eliminate the grease and dirt. this seemed to work great.

Is the chevy II tie rod the one going into the spindle? If so the taper may be different. You may have to get the proper reamer to match up the parts.

That is the case I found out. The Nova tie rod end is larger than the s10 spindle thus being unable to be inserted without rotating the tie rod bolt and recessed ball.

I fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.
