Nice truck!

MS Peek...you can pick up a factory manual on ebay cheap (like for around $15.00), but a Haynes manual is still pretty good for figuring stuff out.

Nice to see a lady Luv'er around here. Take care of that good ole' truck!

And don't worry, if you get confused or stuck, people around here will jump right in and help ya, because that's the kind of place this site is.

Thanks peek, you'd never believe how I painted it. :)

Thinking of doing the 4x4 stripe job later, but I'm not even sure that package was offered on the 79 4x4.

thanks a bunnch. i already bought the haynes to cover my truck. i bought it before i even left my dads with the truck.
i got it off of ebay for about 5 bucks..
i am trying to take care of it. the 1st thing i bought 2 days after i brought the truck home was a locking gas cap. PAID OFF FOR SURE!!! my neighbors tried to pry it off, only popped one pin i guess. i have replaced it yesterday.
i am calling everywhere for an alarm on it.
i dont need anything fancy just something.
i dont have the truck club yet but i use an auto club upside down so you would have a little harder time than nothing.
i will get the clutch lock when i can. i am on ssi so funds are scarce. i have a video cam w/ night vision on it but i need to tape the activity around here

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... 2033170655

but since i dont have an alarm i have to use the cam on my truck.
trust me the truck is watched, by me and my moronic neighbors. mom in law thinks i am paranoid over it. "its an old truck no one would want it" i know better! i also still only have 60, 247 org. miles on it. i cannot replace damage to it as easy as a new car, i somewhat can but pick a part would depreciate it . i am about to ask my dad if i can temp store it in his garage. but he is 30 miles away from me.he needed the room so thats why i have it.
i appreciate all you here in helping me as you have.
it's like we are one big family :)

4" foam rollers :D

The paint job: http://forums.luvtruck.com/viewtopic.ph ... c&start=20

Here's a really good breakdown of the original process: http://rollyourcar.com/default.aspx

Was thinking of painting them on, no luck finding decals.

if you were wanting it like mine i can measure everything and give you measurements. perhaps you can make a guide.
theres 2 different 4x4 patterns i have seen on the luvs. from what i am guessing from memory

Sure, measurements would be great. No rush tho, won't be painting anything til it cools off this fall. Process is easier to control in the 60's.

i can always trace it on wax paper too.
thats how i made a dash cover the diy inventive way.
i took a 99cent store sunvisor and traced my dash and sewed (first try was stapled, ) fabric on it with the sunvisor in the middle foil side up, then sewed lace trim on it. its a girly truck for fure now.
but i can do that for you, dont know how soon i can, but i will for sure, i am searching for an alarm right now and dont have the penny saver in the house. i was thinking to hide the l.e.d. in the glove box but it may be more useful visable.

I would think that with some measurements and pic's that a shop that dose vinal lettering could reproduce the 4X4 decals. And they should be able to match your paint so they would look stock.

If you are wanting to stay with the stock carb, I still have the one I pulled from my 79 after putting in a Weber. Truck ran great while it was in.

Take way less than $300 for it.

hmmm this is the original poster just under different account. very curious, still have that carb? ;)
